Sturgeon v. The National Park Service is the biggest court case in Alaska in at least 35 years. John Sturgeon, a great Alaskan, has been fighting the fight against the Fed almost single-handedly since he was approached by the Park Service on the Nation River in 2007 and told to leave. This case is not about a hovercraft. It is about whether the State of Alaska or the Federal Government has authority on state navigable waters. By pledging an outdoor item that you don’t use anymore or can afford to part with, you can join hundreds of passionate Alaskans help John pay his legal bills which will tally close to 1 million dollars by the time the case is decided in October . A tax-deductible receipt for the fair market value of your donation will be provided. A huge parking lot auction of all pledged items will take place at Compeau’s (4122 Boat St in Fairbanks) on Aug 27th.(minimum suggested item value $300). Come on Fairbanks, let’s show our support for a great man and a great cause! Suggestions: rifles/hunting gear/scope/generator/ammo/snow blower/ATV/sno-go/vehicle/boat/canoe…
